Last Thursday (yes, Thursday, during weekdays), our research group went for a walk in the peak district.. You might asked, what??! Well, some of them have this idea to bond between the researchers by walking together and have a good fresh air. Obviously, in the group, lots of tension in the air...so, they (well, actually Andy) have chosen a place called Longshaw. We went there by car.
I followed Jenny and Siew Li in John's car. All together, four girls went for this walk. You might ask, why did i bother to join? Firstly because i've skipped a bowling trip last time, and this time they insisted that I go...i kinda not have any more excuses, plus walking in the open air is good...not an enclosed place... well, why I didnt join the bowling before? I dont like to bend over in front of these people while playing bowling...Mixing in a closed space, i will try to avoid as much as i can...plus john wasnt there before, so, i didnt have to go...
In the picture above, John, Peter and Shankar were walking towards our aim, the peak.. (not the highest peak there, but quite high la)...but i have to say, the view along the path is very nice and refreshing...alhamdulillah...
Of course, John did not forget about work...still have time to talk about research in the peak district....
Along our way back to the car, we walked alongside a small river...subhanallah very beautiful...i immediately thought of bringing my husband there (he was working at that time, that's why he couldn't join us)... Anyhow, it came across my mind at that time, how great is Allah to create the gushing sound of water down the river relieving any stress and makes our heart in serenity...I was thinking, the rivers, the grass, the cows and sheeps there were all doing zikrullah, and perhaps they were happy coz there were muslims who walk on the same ground while remembering Allah ... seperti dalam kitab Fi zilalil Quran...Kita dan alam buana dalam harmoni..Kita, as in, we muslims :)
Assalaamu'alaykum wa rahmatullah dear sister :)

ReplyDeleteyes, alhamdulillah it was a beautiful walk...
do you have places like that at your place?
Assalaamu'alaykum
ReplyDeleteI can't think of any places here with a "mountain" or hill like that... though I'm sure there are some further out of the metropolis areas. But we do have some lovely parks to visit too.. alhamdulillah. I should make a point of going to some this summer insha'Allah! :)
InshaAllah :)
